In a significant move to strengthen international aerospace collaboration, Jinju City, South Korea, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ConsuNova, a leading aerospace solutions provider based in San Diego, California. The agreement was part of a broader initiative by Jinju City to enhance global partnerships and support local businesses in expanding into international markets.
The Jinju delegation, visiting the United States from January 5 to January 12, began its official schedule on January 6 with a visit to ConsuNova’s headquarters. The MOU focuses on several key areas, including:
- Accelerating aircraft certification projects within Jinju City.
- Developing specialized talent and creating new job opportunities.
- Providing strategic consulting for the establishment of an aerospace industry cluster in the region.
This partnership underscores ConsuNova’s commitment to advancing global aerospace innovation by fostering relationships that drive growth and collaboration within the industry.
Participation in CES 2025
The Jinju delegation also participated in CES 2025, held from January 7 to January 10 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Recognized as the world’s largest IT and electronics trade show, CES provides a platform for showcasing cutting-edge technology and establishing global business connections. Two Jinju-based companies, Jun Engineering Co., Ltd. and MoaSoft Co., Ltd., joined the Korea Pavilion organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). These companies leveraged the event to network with global industry leaders and explore new sales opportunities, supported by Jinju City’s mission to promote its local businesses on the international stage.
Jinju’s Vision for Aerospace Leadership
The partnership with ConsuNova and participation in CES 2025 represent critical milestones in Jinju City’s broader vision of becoming a global leader in the aerospace industry. In recent years, Jinju has taken significant steps to build its aerospace capabilities, including establishing a dedicated corporate attraction department and securing major investments such as the “KAI Rotorcraft Flight Center” in the Gasan Industrial Complex. The city recently began constructing an “Advanced Air Mobility (AAV) Demonstration Center” to further enhance its aerospace infrastructure.
As part of its strategic focus, Jinju City has restructured its Economic and Trade Bureau into the Aerospace Economy Bureau to prioritize aerospace as a key driver of economic growth and innovation.
